The birthday belongs to IJC, but it is society that benefits from our services and content on Autism and Inclusive Education!
April is the anniversary month of the Instituto Jô Clemente (IJC), and this year, IJC celebrates 63 years of history in favor of building a society with opportunities for all individuals, working towards the Social, Educational, and Occupational Inclusion of Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Rare Diseases. We continue our purpose based on science and innovation, aligned with Health Prevention and Promotion, and Defense and Guarantee of the Rights of these individuals.
April is also the month of celebration and representation of three very important dates for IJC:
Junte-se a nós e contribua para o futuro da inclusão!
This date is established by the United Nations (UN) to highlight the need to increase awareness about the issue and promote the inclusion of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in all spheres of society.
In Brazil, it is estimated that 2 million people have been diagnosed with autism, and globally, the prevalence is approximately 1 in every 36 individuals, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These numbers underscore the importance of understanding and supporting the needs of individuals with autism worldwide.
As part of our commitment to inclusion, we offer a variety of services for individuals with autism and their families. From educational programs, employment inclusion, longevity care, to health services and psychosocial support.
It was a historic milestone in the dissemination of information and the breaking of paradigms regarding autism. With 29 partners, the campaign carried out various actions that impacted approximately 20 million people across the country throughout the month through various channels. The main objectives were: to inform and raise awareness about the issue, provide guidance on diagnosis, promote inclusion, and debunk prejudices.
